Today was the final day for any candidate to file to run in the Kentucky 95^th house legislative district special election that will fill the unexpired term of former state representative Gregory Stumbo. 

The following candidates will appear on the February 17, 2004 ballot:

Charles “Chuck” Meade (D) of Hunter, Kentucky

Bobby Stumbo (R) of Hippo, Kentucky

Republican and democratic candidates may still file to appear on the regular May primary ballot for the legislative seat until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2004.  Independent candidates or candidates of an organization or political group have until 4:00 p.m. on August 10, 2004 to register.
