NOTICE

Pursuant to the August 27, 2012, Order entered by Hon. Phillip J. Shepherd in Civil Action No. 12-CI-1042, Franklin Circuit Court, take NOTICE that:

Notwithstanding KRS 118.770, independent, or political organization, or political group petitions and certificates of nomination for the November 6, 2012, special elections to fill the vacancies in the following offices:

·       State House, Second Representative District (Graves and McCracken Counties)

·      State Senate, Nineteenth Senate District (Jefferson County)

·       United States Congress, Fourth Congressional District (Bath, Boone, Boyd, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Carter, Elliott, Fleming, Gallatin, Grant, Greenup, Harrison, Henry, Kenton, Lewis, Mason, Nicholas, Oldham, Owen, Pendleton, Robertson, Scott, and Trimble Counties)

SHALL be filed no later than 4:00 p.m., EST, on September 10, 2012, in the office of the Secretary of State.

KRS 118.770 notwithstanding, no petitions or certificates of nomination for the above-specified special elections will be accepted by the Secretary of State after 4:00 p.m., EST, on September 10, 2012.

Pursuant to KRS 117.265(2), individuals seeking election in the above-specified special elections who do not file a petition or certificate of nomination prior to 4:00 p.m., EST, on September 10, 2012, may file a declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate by no later than 4:00 p.m., EST, on October 26, 2012.
