Expanded Information
One of the greatest resoruces for election information is the Office of the Secretary of State website which serves as a portal to all election information in the Commonwealth. The site links to the Voter Information Center, the nationally heralded online service that allows voters to confirm their voter registration status, polling location, and other vital election data. It also allows voters to view sample ballots in the weeks prior to an election.
The Office of the Secretary of State recently developed a ballot access procedural manual entitled: Declaring Your Candidacy, a quick guide to filing for political office in Kentucky. The publication offers a comprehensive explanation of candidate filing procedures, sample forms for attaining ballot access, and qualifications for each elected office; it also includes other important and pertinent election information that may affect candidates.
Secretary Grayson has dedicated himself during his term to raising the profile of elections and other government activities. Through his Civic Literacy Initiative of Kentucky (CLIK), he has led a nationally recognized effort to increase Kentucky's level of civic literacy and engagement. He has spoken directly to numerous schools, colleges, community leaders, and civic groups about the importance of voting and understanding the election process in Kentucky.
