Clean Elections
Kentucky has strengthened its position as a national model for election administration. Kentucky's implementation of the Help America Vote Act has been hailed by other states as highly effective and efficient. The Office has launched new online services to aid voters, developed a comprehensive guide to ballot access, and worked with the law enforcement officials to attack voter fraud in Kentucky, including proactive steps to provide Kentuckians with the most accurate regsitration list possible.

Kentucky has implemented all requirements of the Help America Vote Act in time for the 2006 election cycle. Many of these mandates strengthen accessibility for Kentuckians with disabilities. Additionally, Kentucky served as a model for many states in their implementation of the act.

Combating Voter Fraud |

The Office launched a number of efforts to address voter fraud in Kentucky. From the effort to reinstate an electioneering ban near the polls, to efforts to address vote buying and fraudulent voter registration techniques, the Office has been recognized nationally for efforts to clean up Kentucky's elections.

The Office has aggressively marketed elections in Kentucky via the Civic Literacy Initiative of Kentucky (CLIK). In addition to that effort, the Office has provided new, expansive means to access information about elections.
