Business Enhancement

The Office of the Secretary of State has transformed the way in which businesses can interact with the Office. The office is now more accessible and efficient for Kentuckians.  Not only is it easier to file and view public documents with the Office of the Secretary of State, but previously outdated laws and statutes have been updated in order to keep Kentucky abreast of the continuous changes in the business environment.  Overall, the Business Services division of the Office of the Secretary of State has undergone a dramatic enhancement for the benefit of the Commonwealth.

New Partnership Legislation

For the first time in over fifty years, Kentucky's partnership law underwent major modernization and enhancement.  HB 234, sponsored by State Representative Scott Brinkman, passed the 2006 general assembly, aligning Kentucky law with the most recent version of the Uniformed Partnership Act.

Online Services

Most of the Office of the Secretary of State's new online services are designed to enhance Kentucky's business resources.  With a critically-acclaimed new online presence, the Office of the Secretary of State is the first stop for most businesses in Kentucky.  Millions of images have been added to the business database.  Kentuckians can now access a variety of certificates and other useful documents via the web, essentially transforming the website into a 24-hour a day service center.
