Notification Services
The Office of the Secretary of State has launced three new notification services where constituents can sign up to receive email notifications or Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds that details recent filings in the Office. Currently, the service is available for the Governor's Executive Journal, Enacted Legislation, and Business Filings. The new service is free and allows constituents to receive emails either at the time each action is taken, on a hourly, daily, weekly or a monthly basis.

Business Records |

Annual Reports Business entities registered in the Commonwealth can obtain and file their annual reports online.
Summons This online service allows constituents to determine when a summons was received in the Office of the Secretary of State and when it was mailed to the defendant and court of jurisdiction. It also provides a direct link to the United States Postal System tracking service which will display when the summons was delivered by certified mail.
Filings and Records The Office announced several new online services such as online access to several corporate certificates that could previously only be requested by phone, including popular forms such as the Certificate of Existence, the Certificate of Authorization, and the Annual Report form and other business services information including the ability to view and print a reinstatement packet for organizations that have been administratively dissolved and statements of change of registered agent/office and for principal office.

Executive Journal |

The Executive Journal contains entries of all official acts of the Governor such as pardons, restorations of civil rights, requisitions and extraditions, appointments, proclamations and reorganizations. Entries in the Executive Journal are made chronologically, but a subject matter index is kept to aid in researching entries into the Executive Journal. Selected Executive Orders and other official filings starting in the administration of former Governor Ernie Fletcher are available online.

Land Grants |

Researchers can access colorscanned images of Kentucky’s oldest land records in the Virginia & Old Kentucky Patent Series and 2,738 preemption warrants issued to early settlers in Kentucky County, Virginia. In addition, title researchers can now access over 8,241 County Court Order patent files, many of which are currently involved in mineral rights acquisition in the Commonwealth.

Enacted Legislation |

The Enacted Legislation database allows researchers to access Enrolled Bills by bill number, date filed, and topic. The database identifies which bills were signed by the governor, allowed to become law without his signature, vetoed by the governor, and bills whose vetoes were overridden by the Legislature. The database is linked to scanned images of each Enrolled Bill.

Sample Ballots The Office of the Secretary of State works with County Clerks across the Commonwealth as well as with election services providers, Harp Enterprises and Kentuckiana Election Services, to place as many ballots on the web as possible in the weeks preceding the Primary and General Elections.
Voter Information Center Citizens can check their party registration and find precinct information, County Clerks contact information, and driving directions from their registration address to their polling location.
