Restoring Civics |

The Office of the Secretary of State believes there is a need to engage young Kentuckians more fully in the electoral process. Particularly, we note the alarming decline of civic engagement among all Kentucky citizens. The Office is examining this decline and working to reverse these trends in order to achieve a better informed and engaged Kentucky electorate.

The Office of the Secretary of State is working to become more accessible to Kentuckians from Hickman to Harlan. The office has revolutionized service to citizens through a variety of outreach efforts and technological innovations making the Kentucky Office of the Secretary of State one of the most technologically advanced and accessible offices in the country. The office is truly a twenty-four hours a day/seven days a week operation thanks to recent innovations.

Clean Elections |

Kentucky has strengthened its position as a national model for election administration. Kentucky's implementation of the Help America Vote Act has been hailed by other states as highly effective and efficient. The Office has launched new online services to aid voters, developed a comprehensive guide to ballot access, and worked with the law enforcement officials to attack voter fraud in Kentucky, including proactive steps to provide Kentuckians with the most accurate registration list possible.

Business Enhancement |

The Office of the Secretary of State has transformed the way in which businesses can interact with the Office. The office is now more accessible and efficient for Kentuckians. Not only is it easier to file and view public documents with the Office of the Secretary of State, but previously outdated laws and statutes have been updated in order to keep Kentucky abreast of the continuous changes in the business environment. Overall, the Business Services division of the Office of the Secretary of State has undergone a dramatic enhancement for the benefit of the Commonwealth.

The Office has embarked upon a number of initiatives to strengthen the future of Kentucky and its citizens. From exploring new ways to fund higher education for Kentucky students to providing women with an empowerment tool for public service, the Office places a high priority building a solid foundation for tomorrow's citizens.
