ATTENTION!!! Important UCC Forms Notice, Effective July 1, 2013
Kentucky has adopted new Uniform Commercial Code forms that go into effect on July 1, 2013. This office will accept previously prescribed forms during a grace period beginning July 1, 2013, through July 31, 2013. Beginning August 1, 2013, all previously prescribed forms will be rejected. The new forms will be available on the Secretary of State's website beginning on July 1, 2013. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of the Secretary of State at (502) 564-3490.
The Uniform Commercial Code Division (UCC), governed under Revised Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code as adopted in Kentucky, effective July 1, 2001, serves as the state repository for financing statements regarding security interests. These financing statements are filed by banks, mortgage companies, and other lending institutions against secured collateral of individuals and other entities that are located within the state.
