Overview of Administrative Services

The Office of the Secretary of State offers a number of services that support citizens and business entities across the Commonwealth.

The Secretary of State also appoints notaries public.

The Secretary of State represents the Commonwealth as the agent for service of process in cases involving foreign corporations, as well as service of summons and petitions in actions against non-resident motorists.

Some documents intended for use abroad require some form of authentication. The Secretary of State provides this authentication in the form of either an apostille or a certificate of authentication.

The Office of the Secretary of State offers a notification service which allows constituents to be notified, either via email or Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds, by the Office when documents are filed and/or amended.
